EU Plans New Sanctions Against Iran, Says German Foreign Minister
"The EU is preparing to impose new sanctions against Iran due to human rights violations in the country," Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock announced today at the start of the EU summit in Brussels.
"We want to once again emphasize that no one is above the law. This is the reason for the preparation of the sixth package of sanctions against Iran," the head of German diplomacy noted, adding that the new sanctions will target those individuals who are personally responsible for human rights violations.
