Armenia and Azerbaijan Have a Historical Opportunity to Normalize Relations, EU Commissioner

Leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan have a historical opportunity to normalize relations between their two countries. This was stated by Oliver Varhelyi, the EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, during a plenary session of the European Parliament.

He added that both parties should return to substantive dialogue, as many important issues still need to be resolved.

"The EU is actively engaged in supporting dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We once again reaffirm our commitment to being a reliable mediator in achieving our common goal of creating a safe, prosperous, and peaceful South Caucasus," he said.
