Canadian MP Calls on Azerbaijan to Open Lachin Corridor
The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Commons in Canada has called on Azerbaijan to guarantee free movement through the Lachin Corridor. The motion presented to the House of Commons was unanimously accepted. This was reported by the Armenian National Committee of Canada.
“The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Commons of Canada has unanimously adopted the motion put forward by MP Stéphane Bergeron, calling on Azerbaijan to open the Lachin Corridor, ensure freedom of movement, and avoid further worsening of the humanitarian situation,” reads a statement shared by the Armenian National Committee of Canada's Twitter page.
The motion will be sent to the House of Commons, and a response will also be requested from the government. The Armenian National Committee of Canada expressed gratitude to MP Stéphane Bergeron, as well as to all members of the committee for their support on this urgent issue.
