People Fleeing in Home Clothes Find Themselves Under Rubble in Torrential Rain, Living in Panic and Uncertainty

The newspaper "Iravunk" reports: "Due to the devastating earthquake in Syria, preliminary data indicates that the damages in Armenian schools, churches, and other institutions are currently being assessed. All buildings have collapses and cracked walls. The city currently has no water, electricity, and there are issues with communication." This was stated by Syrian Parliament member Zhirayr Reisyans, detailing: "Both Armenians and locals spent the entire night in open areas, either under the open sky or in tents. They are afraid to return home, unsure of when the next tremors will occur. Hundreds of buildings have been destroyed due to the tremors, and it's currently difficult to grasp the full picture. The situation in Syria is complicated, due to significant destruction in the country. Rescue services are doing their utmost to evacuate citizens trapped under the rubble as quickly as possible. Aleppo and Latakia have suffered extensive damages, with people primarily sheltering in Armenian churches and mosques. Young Armenians are voluntarily working to provide food and water to the homeless.
