Traffic police inspectors received bribes of up to 10,000 drams from drivers
Three inspectors of the Traffic Police have been arrested for receiving bribes from drivers in exchange for overlooking various violations. This information has been disclosed by the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia.
According to the report, “K.H., K.M., and A.A. have accepted bribes of up to 10,000 drams from drivers who committed gross violations, including those driving without a mandatory insurance policy, without a driver’s license, and even those who had been deprived of their driving rights, in return for not drawing up reports against them.”
Additionally, they failed to compile administrative violation records against the offending drivers. An investigation is underway.
It is worth noting that on January 20, three other inspectors were also arrested for accepting bribes from drivers.
