Ankara Will Not Join Anti-Russian Sanctions
According to Ibrahim Kalın, the official representative of the Turkish President, Ankara will not join the anti-Russian sanctions, as they would harm Turkey's economy more than they would affect the Russian Federation.
Kalın believes that the sanctions imposed by the West against Russia have been ineffective. He expressed this opinion on Saturday to foreign journalists.
“The measures that the West has taken against Russia so far have not been effective. They have not changed Russia's actions, nor have they given Ukrainians the opportunity to achieve a decisive military victory. So what should we do, let this continue for another year, two, three?” he said in response to a question from TASS.
Kalın added that “Turkey will not join the anti-Russian sanctions, as they would harm the Turkish economy more than they would affect the Russian Federation.”
