Azerbaijan's Rhetoric on Corridors Disrupts Relationship Normalization with Turkey: Pashinyan

This morning, during a press conference, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan commented on relations with Turkey, stating: “It is important that not only negotiations take place between Armenia and Turkey but also events that will ensure the dynamics of those negotiations,” he said, expressing hope that the Armenia-Turkey border could be opened soon for citizens of third countries and diplomatic passport holders.

The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of this event in the context of changes in global logistics chains. “I believe this region is becoming much more interesting for international freight transport than before; it is gaining significant international importance. In this sense, the opening of the border between Armenia and Turkey and the launch of the Armenia-Turkey railway acquires much more global significance. I hope that we will have the opportunity to move in this direction. I must also note our readiness to restore the Yereskh-Sadarak-Ortubad-Meghri-Horadiz railway route. We are prepared for it,” he stated.

The Prime Minister mentioned that the only thing disrupting the restoration of all regional communication routes and the implementation of planned projects is “Azerbaijan's rhetoric regarding certain corridors.” It is worth noting that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's press conference is currently ongoing.
