United States to Provide New Military Assistance to Kyiv
The United States plans to provide new military assistance to Kyiv in the coming days and weeks, including HIMARS MLRS systems, said John Kirby, the National Security Council's strategic communications coordinator, during an online briefing, as reported by Kp.ru.
He also added that the U.S. side does not expect a swift end to military operations in Ukraine.
“Fighting has been particularly intense in the east (of Ukraine) in recent weeks. I think we should expect that this level of fighting will continue... we will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine... You will see how we do this again in the coming days and weeks,” said Kirby.
A day earlier, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak promised new supplies of military equipment to Ukraine. According to him, Kyiv should expect such support from London in the coming weeks and months.
Meanwhile, at the end of December 2022, French President Emmanuel Macron announced that his country had supplied Crotale missile systems and air defense systems to Kyiv and plans to deliver a new batch of weapons in early 2023.
