Putin Announces Ceasefire in Ukraine from January 6 at 12:00 to January 7 at 24:00 on the Occasion of Christmas
Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered a ceasefire in Ukraine from January 6 at 12:00 to January 7 at 24:00. The relevant directive has been published on the official Kremlin website.
“Taking into account the appeal of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, I instruct the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation to establish a ceasefire along the entire line of combat contact in Ukraine from 12:00 on January 6, 2023, until 24:00 on January 7, 2023. Considering that a large number of citizens who profess Orthodoxy live in the areas of hostilities, we call on the Ukrainian side to declare a ceasefire and to allow them to participate in the services on the eve of Christmas and on the day of the Nativity of Christ,” the directive states.
