Erdogan to Speak with Putin and Zelensky
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is scheduled to have a phone call on Wednesday, January 4, with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky. This was announced by Erdogan's spokesperson Ibrahim Kalin during a broadcast on Turkish NTV on January 3.
“Tomorrow our president plans to speak on the phone with Putin and Zelensky,” Kalin said during the NTV broadcast.
According to him, Erdogan intends to discuss the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis with the presidents of Russia and Ukraine. The information that Putin plans to talk to Erdogan on January 4 was also confirmed to Interfax by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.
On January 1, Kalin stated in an interview with Kriter magazine that Turkey supports diplomatic efforts for resolving the Ukrainian crisis. He noted that Ankara is providing assistance to Kyiv in various areas but does not cease cooperation with Moscow, as it aligns with Turkey's national interests.
