Drinking Water Flows Unchecked, Problem Remains Unresolved. Environmentalist Raises Alarm
Environmentalist Mariam Sukhudyan has made a post on her Facebook page regarding the "uncontrolled flow of drinking water in the village of Zovuni." She stated, "This is our street, Zovuni village, the closest village to Yerevan next to Davitashen, where drinking water has been flowing unchecked through rusty pipes for weeks, bringing whatever comes along with it as it flows towards homes. This has been ongoing for years, with only one or two people from the entire village alerting about this sanitary and hygienic disaster, despite the fact that children drink this water and suffer from acute stomach pains. Veolia responds to calls, comes to take samples from the dirty water, and the next day states that the water quality is within normal limits, while ignoring the 60-year-old leaky pipes and going about its business. The village administration seems to be in deep meditation, " writes the user.
