Kremlin Responds to Question on Possible Meeting Between Putin and Biden
No preliminary contacts exist regarding a potential meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Joe Biden, said Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.
Peskov responded to a relevant question from journalists, stating, "There are no preliminary contacts on this issue."
It is worth noting that Putin mentioned that Russia has never rejected negotiations with Ukraine, stating that it is Kyiv that has prevented dialogue, which he finds somewhat unusual and even strange. Following this, John Kirby, the coordinator for strategic communications at the U.S. National Security Council, stated that the U.S. believes that the Russian leadership is not ready for negotiations regarding the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine.
