Armenian Doctors Wish to Go to Artsakh to Assist Seriously Ill Patients

During a rally near the UN office in Armenia, the head of the surgical department at Yerevan State Medical University, Gagik Hakobyan, announced on behalf of doctors that they want to travel to Artsakh to assist seriously ill patients there.

“If the international community provides air transportation, many of our colleagues are ready to go today and help those seriously ill individuals currently in Artsakh,” he said.

Addressing international humanitarian organizations, he noted that this is a human rights issue. “Yesterday, they showed how a mother in Artsakh keeps her newborn warm in these harsh winter conditions. It is simply barbaric, and there is no way to justify it,” he stated.

Doctors are demanding international organizations to immediately utilize all their resources and tools to unblock Artsakh and save the approximately 120,000 people living there from humanitarian disaster.
