The Local Population is at Risk of Freezing to Death, Says Mkhitaryan

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, the Armenian midfielder of AS Roma, addressed the closure of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan on his Twitter page. He noted that the 120,000 residents of Artsakh, including 30,000 children, are under a complete blockade, and in addition, Azerbaijan has halted gas supplies, which can have devastating consequences.

“Considering that it is winter and the nighttime temperatures drop below zero, the local population is at risk of freezing to death. This is becoming a real humanitarian disaster. The physical blockade of Nagorno-Karabakh is tantamount to condemning its population to a slow death,” Mkhitaryan wrote.
