Araik Harutyunyan in Paris: He Gave a Press Conference
During a working visit to the French Republic, the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, held a press conference in Paris on December 7, attended by around two dozen leading French media outlets.
The head of state outlined the objectives of his visit to France, pointing out the recurring and increasingly aggressive behavior of Azerbaijan towards the people of Artsakh, as well as the consistent creation of humanitarian issues. He enumerated the threats that pose a serious danger to the existence of the Armenian people in their homeland of Artsakh.
According to President Harutyunyan, he aims to send a message through France to all European countries to take measures to prevent Azerbaijan’s reckless behavior, which is unequivocally supported by Turkey.
“We understand that Europe has oil and gas interests with Azerbaijan, but our appeal is to respect the rights of our people to self-determination and existence and to prevent the implementation of Azerbaijan's genocidal and expansionist policies using existing tools. In this sense, it is also relevant to mention the attacks carried out against not only Artsakh but also the Republic of Armenia over the last two years and the occupation of the sovereign territories of the Republic of Armenia,” said Araik Harutyunyan.
During the meeting, the president answered various questions from journalists and also gave a separate interview to the state news agency “France Press” and was hosted by the “France-24” television channel.
