Aghajanyan on the Closure of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijanis
KP faction member Eduard Aghajanyan, during a press conference with members of the Armenian National Assembly delegation at the OSCE PA, addressed the issue of the temporary closure of the road on December 3, stating that the closure of the Lachin Corridor by Azerbaijanis is problematic.
“What happened a few days ago, which resulted in the de facto closure of the Lachin Corridor, is, of course, problematic. We believe that we must do everything with the Russian peacekeepers to prevent such incidents from recurring,” said Aghajanyan.
Aghajanyan emphasized that the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, stipulates that the Lachin Corridor should operate only under the control of Russian peacekeepers, and the Armenia-Artsakh connection should be without obstacles. He noted that any obstructive detail is unacceptable.
It is worth noting that a group of Azerbaijanis in civilian clothing had closed the Stepanakert-Goris highway under the pretext of environmental reasons in the area of the Shushi-Karin Tak intersection.
