VIDEO: Mirzoyan, Shoigu, and Zas Arrive in Dvin for CSTO Defense and Foreign Ministers Meeting
CSTO defense ministers and foreign ministers have arrived in Dvin. A joint meeting of the foreign ministers, defense ministers, and secretaries of security councils of the Collective Security Treaty Organization is starting in Yerevan. Later, a session of the CSTO Collective Security Council will take place under the presidency of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan.
According to Armenpress, the members of the Collective Security Council will discuss pressing issues of international and regional security, as well as the main results of CSTO activities during the inter-sessional period. One of the key issues will be the improvement of the CSTO crisis response system and the discussion of joint measures to provide assistance to the Republic of Armenia.
During the CSTO Collective Security Council meeting, it is planned to adopt a declaration of the Collective Security Council. A number of documents related to equipping peacekeeping forces with modern weaponry, military and special equipment, and the establishment of joint radiation, chemical, and biological defense will be signed during the meeting.
The question of the CSTO Secretary General is also expected to be discussed in connection with the rotation scheduled for January 1, 2023.
