Investigations Launched into Shooting of Soldier by Azerbaijani Forces

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated a criminal case concerning the shooting of conscript soldier Paruyr Khachatryan by the Azerbaijani armed forces, under Article 44-155, Part 2, Points 1 and 15 of the Armenian Criminal Code.

According to the Investigative Committee, preliminary information indicates that on November 10, 2022, around 10:30 AM, an Azerbaijani soldier fired at a military position of the Armenian Defense Ministry located in the vicinity, motivated by racial, national, ethnic, or religious hatred, with the intent to unlawfully deprive a human being of life. As a result of the gunfire, conscript soldier Paruyr Vachagan Khachatryan sustained a gunshot wound to the left side of his chest.

An investigation is underway.
