‘Turkey's enemy will be Russia: sooner or later, there will be a clash’ - Vazgen Manukyan
The most surprising aspect of the anti-Russian propaganda is the following: they say that Russia is not trustworthy for us, because it has befriended Azerbaijan and Turkey. Former Prime Minister and opposition leader Vazgen Manukyan stated this during a press conference with journalists today.
‘If you say such a thing, then you consider Azerbaijan and Turkey your enemies. You accuse Russia of communicating with your enemies, which means it is dangerous. And after that, you draw an illogical conclusion that Russia should be driven out of here. In that case, you are left to face those enemies. They say no, in that case, the West will come and occupy that place. Yes, Russia and Turkey are cooperating, but in the same way, the USA and the West are trying to pull Turkey away from Russia. That is, they are also interested in advancing Turkish interests,’ he said.
According to Manukyan, Turkey skillfully plays between Russia and the West: ‘But ultimately, who will it have contradictions with—Russia or the West? With Russia, because the plans that Turkey has are connected to this region. It wants to build a Great Turan state, and its enemy will eventually become Russia, sooner or later there will be a clash with Russia. In this case, Turkey becomes Western. And the West may not be as interested in this region as Russia is. It turns out that you are driving the Russians away and remaining under the control of the Turks. That is obvious. If you consider Turkey an enemy, why are you doing this? In general, there should be a balance of power in politics; it would be very good if you had alliances with different countries, where there are still contradictions. In that case, you will be free, but if you are going to be dependent on Turkey, then what freedom, what sovereignty?’ he emphasized.
