Iranian Forces Crossed the Aras River Under the Watchful Eye of Azerbaijani Border Guards: Vardan Voskanian
Iranian expert Vardan Voskanian spoke during an interview with 24 TV about the challenges facing Armenia's foreign policy: "Armenia's interest implies that we need to have an anti-Turkish alliance in our region, which should include Russia, Iran, ourselves, and other states as well. The existence of a Russo-Turkish tandem makes strategic alliance impossible in the long term."
Voskanian also discussed Iranian military exercises: "The exercise is a test of war; therefore, Iranian military exercises should be viewed in this context. I want to note that the Iranian army has crossed the Aras River and entered the southern areas of Nagorno-Karabakh occupied by Azerbaijan, directly under the eyes of Azerbaijani border guards. Azerbaijani propaganda outlets began to seek justification mechanisms, claiming that there are no Israeli bases present, and so on. But Iran demonstrated what counteraction would take place if the Azerbaijan-Turkish alliance attempted to utilize these territories for anti-Iranian purposes, especially if they tried to use these areas to cut off Armenia’s Syunik province from the rest of Armenia, thereby disrupting the land connection between Armenia and Iran."
