Shoigu and Pentagon Chief Discuss Situation in Ukraine
Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu held a phone discussion with Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin regarding the situation in Ukraine, as reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense. The two officials generally addressed current issues of international security.
This marks the second time since the start of Russia's special operation in Ukraine that the defense leaders of the two countries have held talks.
Recall that in the early morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the decision to conduct a special military operation in Ukraine at the request of the LPR and DPR for assistance.
Hostilities in Ukraine have now been ongoing for 239 days.
