PHOTOS: Thick Smoke and Disgusting Smell – What Residents of the Capital Reported
Yesterday around midnight, numerous Facebook users reported thick smoke and a disgusting smell in the administrative districts of Arabkir, Nor Nork, Zeytun, and Kentron. They also called the Ministry of Emergency Situations, which confirmed that their vehicles were touring the area to determine where a fire had broken out that was producing the smoke.
Hayk Kostanyan, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Emergency Situations, informed Auroranews.am that a fire had erupted in the landfill at Balakaghit, which was the cause of both the smoke and the smell. The fire has since been extinguished.
