Iran Will Not Tolerate Any Changes to Recognized Borders of Armenia and Azerbaijan: Ebrahim Raisi

The Islamic Republic of Iran will not tolerate any changes to the recognized borders of Armenia and Azerbaijan. This was stated by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi during his speech at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit taking place in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

“Establishing peace, stability, and security in the Caucasus region is very important for the Islamic Republic of Iran. We have consistently emphasized the necessity of respecting the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of countries, and refusing any changes to the recognized borders of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia. The parties must resolve their disagreements through dialogue and peacefully, based on international law,” President Raisi stated, according to IRNA.

He announced that Iran, defending its national interests and security, expresses its readiness to assist Armenia and Azerbaijan in resolving their disputes.
