We are in close contact with Baku and Yerevan, taking necessary steps: Russian Foreign Ministry Representative
Russia is taking steps to stabilize the situation along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border. This was reported by РИА Новости, presenting an interview with Denis Gonchar, the head of the CIS countries department in the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“We are in close contact with Baku and Yerevan. We are taking the necessary steps to facilitate the rapid resolution of the situation,” he said.
Gonchar accused the European Union of attempting to push Russia out of the South Caucasus, emphasizing that the EU is clearly trying to intervene in Russia's trilateral work with Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“It is noteworthy that the EU's activation regarding the South Caucasus occurred against the backdrop of Western sanctions against Russia and the cessation of joint work under the Minsk Group of the OSCE,” Denis Gonchar announced.
