Iran's Border with Armenia is a Historic Communication Route and Must Remain Unchanged: Abdollahian to Bayramov
Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov had a phone conversation. The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed concern over the tensions between Armenia and Azerbaijan, stating that the region is not prepared for a new conflict.
He emphasized, “For Iran, the territorial integrity and inviolability of international borders of the countries in the region are important.” According to local media, Tehran advocates for resolving issues between Azerbaijan and Armenia through peaceful negotiations and is ready to assist in this matter.
Notably, according to the Iranian Fars agency, Iran's Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian also emphasized the inadmissibility of changing the Iran-Armenia border. He specifically stated, “The border between Iran and Armenia is a historic communication route and must remain unchanged.”
