Major Car Accident in Syunik: 2 Soldiers Dead
On August 21, a tragic car accident occurred in the Syunik region. Around 1:30 AM, 29-year-old Fahrad Hakobyan, a resident of Ararat province, driving an Opel Astra, veered into the oncoming lane in front of building number 2 on Hunan Avetisyan Street in Kapan under still unknown circumstances. He collided with a concrete barrier and a tree.
According to shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, Hakobyan and his passenger, 37-year-old Suren Pirumyan, also from Ararat province, were taken to the Kapan Medical Center with injuries, while the other passenger, 28-year-old Razmik Hakobyan, from Ararat province, died at the scene.
At 7:40 AM today, the Kapan Medical Center informed the Kapan police department that Pirumyan, who had been transported to the hospital, passed away without regaining consciousness.
The driver and the deceased were serving in a military unit of the Armenian Ministry of Defense.
