What Was Ultimately Decided: Tatev Khachatryan on Metro Employees' Strike

As we previously reported, the employees of the Yerevan Metro staged a strike this morning. It later became clear that the train drivers had not reported for work, demanding a salary increase.

After hours of strike, normal operations were restored following negotiations among the absent train drivers.

Auroranews.am reached out to Tatev Khachatryan, the head of public relations for the metro, to find out what was ultimately decided and what agreements were reached.

The spokesperson stated that an agreement had been made regarding the review of salaries, and based on this promise, the employees decided to return to work. When asked about the timeline for organizing these discussions, the press officer found it challenging to provide an answer.

When questioned about whether employees had previously complained about working conditions, the spokesperson confirmed that they had. It turns out that employees had raised complaints in the past, but today's situation escalated to a strike.
