Sochi: After the Downpour

The heavy downpours in Sochi began on the night of July 24. According to local authorities, 76 mm of rain fell in just one hour. This is reported by TASS.

Sixteen streets in the central district were affected by the disaster, with the epicenter being the Donskaya microdistrict.

During the rain, the flow of water swept away more than 50 vehicles. Local news outlets report that residents have come out onto the streets to help clean up the city. The beach area is also crowded.

The city is returning to normal life, despite a state of emergency having been declared. It is worth noting that there has been one reported fatality.
