The Governor and the Mayor Met With Us: The Main Road in Armavir Province Has Been Opened
The main road in Armavir Province is now open in both directions. This was stated by a resident of the Aknalich village in an interview with NEWS.am.
The primary reason for the villagers blocking the road was the lack of irrigation water in the village, which has left their household plots dry, cracked, and their seedlings withered. "The next issue is that electricity is cut off regularly every day. It’s a hopeless situation. We have already opened the road; the governor and the mayor came to meet us. But I don't know what exactly they agreed upon," he said.
Earlier, it was reported that a tense and potentially explosive situation lasted over an hour in Armavir Province, as more than 400 villagers near Aknalich symbolically closed the main section of the Yerevan-Armavir highway.
