Young Man Electrocutes and Dies on the Way to Hospital

On July 17, a tragic incident occurred in the Aragatsotn region. Around 5:35 PM, a call was received by the Ashtarak police department from the "Ashtarak" medical center, reporting that a man had been brought in dead.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, police and investigators determined that the deceased was 32-year-old Raphael Mkrtchyan, a resident of Yerevan. It was also established that on that day, R. Mkrtchyan had visited the village of Parpi to assist his friend, 34-year-old Albert Petrosyan, a resident of Yerevan, in laying internet network cables in the village.

Around 5:20 PM, R. Mkrtchyan climbed an electricity pole located across from house number 7 on 1st passage of R. Philipposian street in Parpi, where he accidentally touched the power lines and was electrocuted. He died on the way to the "Ashtarak" medical center.
