“They are, as they say, old friends”: Voskanyan Sarkisyan
Journalist Voskanyan Sarkisyan's commentary: “At the beginning of the 20th century, there was a secret agent of the tsarist police in Russia who assured the faithful people that the tsar was unaware of the people's dire situation, the illegalities prevailing in the country, and led the people to the tsar's palace, where the massacre of the people took place on January 9, 1905, the ‘Bloody Sunday’. Following the publication of a recording of a conversation involving Gagik Jhangiryan, who holds the position of President of the Supreme Judicial Council, some human rights defenders, while condemning Jhangiryan, are attempting to present Nikol Pashinyan in a favorable light, as if G. Jhangiryan acted independently, while the leader of the revolution, Nikol Pashinyan, given a significant role in his new, clean team, to the infamous Jhangiryan. These individuals operate like Father Gapon did at the time. Didn’t Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan call for the courts to be closed, declaring, ‘Is there a judge in Armenia who will not comply with what I say,’ and so on?
The photos presented were taken by me in 2012 in Ijevan, when Nikol Pashinyan and Gagik Jhangiryan were candidates from the same political force in that year's parliamentary elections. They are, as they say, old friends.”
It should be noted that days ago, a scandalous interview was published featuring the conversation between suspended President of the Supreme Judicial Council Ruben Vardazaryan and acting President of the Supreme Judicial Council Gagik Jhangiryan.
