National Security Council Secretary on Aliyev's Statements Regarding the 'Zangezur Corridor'
Azerbaijan is making statements that are not in line with the negotiations. This was stated by National Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan during a conversation with reporters after a government meeting, addressing the comments made by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev regarding the 'Zangezur Corridor'.
It is noteworthy that Aliyev stated in a phone conversation with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan that an agreement was reached on May 22 in Brussels to create a corridor through Armenian territory, including the construction of both railway and automobile routes.
"There has been a clarification from Brussels that no discussions have taken place in terms of a corridor logic. Our colleagues in Moscow declared this back in November 2021; if I remember correctly, it was Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk who stated that issues concerning corridor logic are not being discussed," Grigoryan said.
He pointed out that he can clearly state what is being negotiated and what is being declared. According to the National Security Council Secretary, what the Armenian side discussed in Brussels and what is being announced fully aligns with the ongoing processes. Armen Grigoryan assured that they are trying to be as transparent as possible on this matter.
