Following Meeting of Paris Mayor and Artsakh President, Azerbaijan Summons French Ambassador
Azerbaijani authorities have summoned French Ambassador Zacharie Gross to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This information has been reported by Azerbaijani media, citing the ministry.
The French diplomat was presented with a complaint regarding the meeting between Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo and Artsakh President Araik Harutyunyan.
According to an official statement, it was highlighted to the ambassador that this step contradicts French legislation and the country's international obligations, and also harms relations between France and Azerbaijan.
Harutyunyan and Hidalgo met on May 27 in the city of Goris. According to official sources, Anne Hidalgo assured that Paris is ready to make necessary efforts to support the people of Artsakh within humanitarian programs.
