Deputy Prime Minister on Upcoming Meeting with Azerbaijani Side in Moscow
The first session of the national commissions of Armenia and Azerbaijan on delimitation and security issues, which took place on May 24 at the border of the two countries, was constructive. This was stated by the head of the Armenian commission, Deputy Prime Minister Mhher Grigoryan, in an interview with a TASS correspondent on Friday.
“Indeed, on May 24, we held the first meeting at the border, during which we discussed exclusively organizational issues for further joint work, and in this regard, I consider the meeting to be quite constructive.
There is still no agreement on the timing of the next meeting of the commissions on delimitation and border security, but it has been confirmed that the meeting will take place in Moscow,” he said.
Grigoryan confirmed that next week a meeting of the trilateral working group on unblocking transportation and economic ties in the region will be held in Moscow, co-chaired by the deputy prime ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan.
According to him, the specific timing of the meeting is currently in the coordination phase, and the agenda includes issues related to the implementation of agreements under the trilateral statements of the leaders of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan dated November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021.
“This agenda is not related to delimitation,” he added.
