Emergency Incident in Kotayk Province: Vehicle Rolls Over 100 Meters into a Ravine
Today, April 18, an emergency incident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 16:00, the 911 crisis management center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a call that a ЗИЛ 131 vehicle transporting gas cylinders had veered off the roadway at the 49th kilometer of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, collided with concrete barriers, and rolled approximately 100 meters into a ravine.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, the driver, 37-year-old Sargis Simonyan, a resident of Yerevan, has been taken to the "Hrazdan" medical center with bodily injuries.
The photojournalist reports that there were 10 gas cylinders on the overturned ЗИЛ, causing damage to the general valve of the gas cylinders and resulting in a gas leak. Traffic police and firefighters have cordoned off the area until the contents of the gas cylinders are emptied, after which special equipment will be used to safely remove it.
