Suspect Arrested for Damaging Leonid Azgaldyan Statue
On April 13, at 18:18, the Police Operational Management Center received a report from a citizen who informed that between April 10 and April 13 at 18:00, an object resembling a hammer was used to damage the facial section of the statue of Artsakh hero Leonid Azgaldyan, located at the intersection of Mashtots Avenue and Khorenatsi Street.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. As a result of operational investigative measures conducted by detectives from the Central Police Department, the identity of the perpetrator has been established. The 58-year-old resident of Mashtots Avenue in Yerevan was taken to the Central Police Department and provided a confession. He has been arrested.
An investigation is ongoing.
