Austrian Chancellor Informs Putin of Zelensky's Desire for Direct Talks
Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer stated during a press briefing that he informed Russian President Vladimir Putin about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's desire to engage in direct negotiations with him, as reported by TASS.
"I pointed out that President Zelensky wishes to establish direct contact with him for negotiations. However, there was no significant response to this," said the head of the Austrian cabinet.
Earlier, Karl Nehammer noted that his conversation with Vladimir Putin in Novo-Ogaryovo was "very tough and open." The talks lasted for 75 minutes.
Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg stated that the politicians were preparing to hold a "face-to-face" meeting without press involvement.
