Putin Orders Measures for Gas Payments in Rubles
Russian President Vladimir Putin has instructed the government, the Central Bank, and Gazprom to take necessary measures to ensure that payments for Russian gas from "unfriendly countries" are made in rubles by March 31. This information was reported by the Kremlin's press service.
It is noteworthy that this primarily concerns member states of the European Union, which have imposed strict sanctions on Russia following the start of the special military operation in Ukraine. EU members Germany and France have already stated that they intend to pay for gas supplied from the Russian Federation exclusively in dollars and euros.
