Ombudsman's Response to Road Blockade by Residents of Tsovagyugh and Semenovka
The issues raised by residents of the Tsovagyugh and Semenovka communities in the Gegharkunik region are under the direct attention of the Human Rights Defender. This is stated in a message from the RA Ombudsman.
“The problems being raised by the residents of Tsovagyugh and Semenovka have been known to both the Human Rights Defender personally and the representatives of the Defender’s office in the Gegharkunik region prior to today’s protest action. From the very first moment of the road blockade by the residents, we have been attentively following the demands presented and are in direct contact with representatives of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure and the Gegharkunik Regional Administration. The Ombudsman’s representatives are also in communication with certain residents on site.
The Human Rights Defender will continue to keep the issues raised by the residents under direct observation and will support the resolution of the situation within the limits of his authority,” the statement reads.
