Traffic Jam in Dilijani Turns into Several Kilometers as Citizens Attempt to Redirect Blocked Truck
Due to heavy snowfall in the Republic, a state of emergency has arisen in the Tavush region. In the Dilijan winding roads, a multi-kilometer traffic jam has formed because the road has not been properly cleared. One of the reasons for this situation is the improper positioning of trucks, colloquially referred to as 'scissoring' the roadway.
Currently, representatives from the 4th platoon of the 2nd police battalion of the Traffic Police are working at the Dilijan tunnel to Ijevan section, led by platoon commander Edgar Suslyan, while personnel from the 2nd squad are working from Ijevan to Dilijan, headed by squad commander Karen Abazyan.
Before the arrival of traffic police, citizens have attempted to maneuver the blocked truck themselves, after which it will be possible to clear the road and restore traffic.
