US Promises to Assist in Evacuating Zelensky from Kyiv
The United States has pledged to assist Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in evacuating from Kyiv amid the Russian operation in Donbass, reports TASS, citing The Washington Post.
It is noted that U.S. officials have been warning the Ukrainian leader for weeks that he is the "number one target" for Russian military forces.
The source informed the newspaper that U.S. officials have expressed their willingness to help Zelensky and have discussed various security matters, including potential locations where he could be relocated.
Previously, the Ukrainian president released a video regarding his whereabouts. He stated that he is in Kyiv with his colleagues, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, and President's advisor Mykhailo Podolyak.
