Iranian Embassy's Response to Azerbaijani Lawmaker's Statement on the Blue Mosque Being 'Azerbaijani'
The Iranian Embassy in Armenia has responded to Azerbaijani parliament member Tahir Mirgishili's statement claiming that the Blue Mosque, located in the center of Yerevan, is 'Azerbaijani.'
In a tweet, the embassy stated, 'Those interested in history clearly understand the high cultural value and identity of the Blue Mosque, which has Persian inscriptions over two centuries old. It is a great fortune that these historical inscriptions have been preserved.'
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijani lawmakers Soltan Mamedov and Tahir Mirgishili, who are in Yerevan to participate in the Parliamentary Assembly of the EuroNest, visited the Iranian Blue Mosque on Mashtots Avenue.
