The Most Welcoming City on the Planet Revealed
Booking.com has published its list of the most welcoming places on the planet for 2022. Italian city Matera tops the ranking for the first time, according to a press release from the platform.
Matera is an ancient cave city known for its rock dwellings, which are included in the UNESCO World Heritage list.
In the second place is Slovakia's Bled, followed by Taitung in Taiwan. Other best locations include Greece's Nafplio, Spain's Toledo, Brazil's Monte Verde, Belgium's Bruges, Indonesia's Nusa Lembongan, Ponta Delgada in the Azores, and Vietnam's Hoi An.
According to the platform, welcoming destinations also include Tasmania in Australia, Burgenland in Austria, the Seychelles, Canterbury in New Zealand, Santa Cruz in Argentina, Limón in Costa Rica, Spain's La Rioja, Nova Scotia in Canada, and the Gorenska region in Slovenia.
