Educational Institutions May Switch to Online Learning Based on Pandemic Situation - Ministry of Education

The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia officially announces that the information circulating on social media regarding the transition to online education for schools, vocational colleges, and higher educational institutions starting from February 7 is not true.

“There is no new order from the Minister of Education and Science regarding the transition to online education; the circulated document is absurd. We urge our fellow citizens to follow only official news, which is constantly published on the ministry's official website, escs.am, as well as on the official pages of social media platforms,” the statement from the ministry reads.

At the same time, we inform you that, according to the current regulations, an educational institution may switch to online learning based on the pandemic situation. This means that if there are educational institutions where cases of the pandemic reach a certain percentage, they temporarily switch to online education for 14 days, notifying the ministry in writing. After the improvement of the pandemic situation, educational institutions will return to in-person learning.
