Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Kotayk Province: Woman Struck by Opel Zafira

This afternoon, on January 24, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 4:20 PM, Artak Karapetyan, a 28-year-old resident of Charentsavan, struck a pedestrian, 34-year-old Satenik Hayrapetyan from Garni village, with his Opel Zafira vehicle on the 3rd kilometer of the Charentsavan-Alapars highway.

According to reports from the scene provided by shamshyan.com, the driver did not flee the scene and attempted to assist the injured pedestrian, but she unfortunately died on the spot.

Following the incident, a criminal case has been initiated based on the second part of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, as per the directive of investigator A. Dalakyan. By the investigator's order, the vehicle has been moved to a special secure area of the Charentsavan police department.

Reports indicate that following the accident, the car veered out of the roadway and ended up in a ravine, buried in snow.
