Murder in Abovyan: 36-Year-Old Man Found with Throat Slashed

Today, on January 20, a murder occurred in the Kotayk region. Around 18:00, an ambulance from the "Abovyan" medical center transported a citizen with a neck wound caused by a sharp, cutting object from near building 2 on Daran Street in the city of Abovyan.

According to shamshyan.com, the citizen succumbed to his injuries during transport. The "Abovyan" medical center reported the incident to the Kotayk police department, where a patrol unit, led by the day's responsible officer, arrived.

Officers from the community police division of the Kotayk department quickly established that the deceased was 36-year-old Artak Ovakyan, a resident of Abovyan.

The community police identified the suspect, also a resident of Abovyan, as 33-year-old Suren Baghramyan, who has been located and taken into custody by the Kotayk police department.

The knife used in the crime has been found. The Kotayk regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee is preparing materials regarding the incident.
