We Do Not Have a Habit of Inviting Anyone: Lavrov on the Possibility of Inviting Kazakhstan to a Union State
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has commented on the views of several Western experts regarding the possibility of inviting Kazakhstan to join the union state of Russia and Belarus. According to the minister, Moscow does not have a habit of 'inviting' someone as NATO does, reports Russia Today.
“We do not have a habit of inviting anyone. We have a procedure, according to which, if someone applies, we certainly consider it and approach it constructively. Our Western partners have a habit of indiscriminately inviting everyone to join them, just as they are now inviting everyone to join NATO. That is not our method; we are polite people,” Lavrov stated during a press conference.
