Priest Sentenced to 21 Years in Prison for the Sexual Abuse of 11 Children in Russia
The Orenburg Regional Court has found priest Nikolai Stremsky guilty of committing sexual violence against 11 children and sentenced him to 21 years in prison, as reported by RIA Novosti.
In September 2019, Stremsky was arrested on suspicion of the rape of a minor, sexual violence against minors, and failure to fulfill parental duties.
During the investigation, the Orenburg diocese imposed a ban on Stremsky's spiritual service.
Eleven children were recognized as victims in the case. According to the court, the priest has also been deprived of the right to engage in activities related to working with children for 20 years, as well as the state award “Medal for Parental Glory.”
