France to Ban Entry of Unvaccinated Individuals to Public Dining Venues

The French government has announced that despite protests and procedural complications, the decision to ban entry to public dining and entertainment venues, as well as public transport for unvaccinated individuals, will be enforced starting mid-January.

Clément Beaune, France's Minister for European Affairs, stated that January 15 remains the date when this requirement will take effect. Currently, in order to enter restaurants, cafes, or movie theaters, and to board trains in France, one must present a vaccination certificate or a negative COVID-19 test result. However, from January 15 onwards, this negative test result will no longer be accepted.

This legislation has sparked outrage in France, with anti-vaccination activists and right-wing political groups calling for its repeal. However, the government remains a staunch supporter of the measure.
