75% of COVID-19 Omicron Variant Cases in Denmark Were Vaccinated
In Denmark, 75% of individuals infected with the Omicron variant of COVID-19 were fully vaccinated against the virus. Some of these individuals even contracted the virus after receiving a booster shot of the vaccine, as reported by Dagens Nyheter.
Specifically, out of 1,280 people infected with the Omicron variant in Denmark, 956 had received two doses of the vaccine, while 114 had received three doses.
According to data from the Danish television channel TB2, the Omicron variant has recently been spreading particularly among young people aged 20-29. Experts indicate that this data shows the new variant is actively spreading in nightclubs, which are popular among the youth.
As a result of this development, the Danish government decided on December 10 to close nightclubs, while bars and restaurants will remain open until midnight.
